FFL Transfers

If you purchased a firearm on-line, or need to transfer firearms to/from you, family, or friends, Yowie Outdoors can help. We will facilitate the transfer of firearms with other Federal Firearms License holders for you. Our firearm transfer policy will have your item transferred to you in the fastest way possible.

You may direct the dealer shipping the firearm to this website or email address, or you may send us their contact information and we will email it to them directly.

If the firearm is being sent from a non-FFL Dealer, we will need them to include a copy of their state ID or DL, (front and back). Make sure your contact information is included with the shipment. We encourage you to ship it via tracked and insured method.

Yowie Outdoors accepts no responsibility for tracking shipments. UPS/FedEx delivery notification does not mean that the item is ready for pickup.  

Transfer Policies

Incoming Transfers

  • Customers please fill out form at end for incomming transfers
  • For the efficient processing of incoming transfers, it is vital that the receiving customer s name andcontact number be included with the firearm(s). If information is missing it can cause a delay in the person receiving their transfer.
  • Please note that receiving a delivery notification from UPS/USPS/Fed Ex DOES NOT mean that the item(s) is ready for pickup.   All transferred firearm(s) will be available for pickup after the customer has been contacted and has scheduled an appointment to complete the transfer. We will notify the customer by either email, text, or a phone call to the number on file.
  • All incoming transfers will be processed in the order that they are received. Transfers are only processed Monday through Thursday.
  • Customers have 30 calendar days to pick up transferred firearms, unless other arrangements have been made.   Customers that have not picked up by the 30th day will be assessed a $5/per-day storage fee PER FIREARM until either the firearm has been picked up or the value of the firearm or the cost of labor has been reached.   Once the storage fee exceeds the cost of labor and/or the value of the firearm, the firearm(s) will be considered abandoned and will become the property of Yowie Outdoors   Any Item that has not been claimed after Nine Months is to be considered abandoned.   See Store Policies.

Transfers from Private Individuals

Yowie Outdoors accepts incoming transfers from FFL dealers and Private individuals. For the efficient processing of incoming transfers, it is vital that the receiving customer’s name and contact number be included with the firearm(s). Include a copy of your Drivers License front and back. If information is missing it can cause a delay in the person receiving their transfer. 

Incoming Transfer Fees

Handguns/Long guns/(Title 1) $30 (per item)

Suppressors/SBR/NFA (Class 3) $75 (per item)

Picking up Your Transfer

    To pick up your transfer you must have the following:

  • A valid Minnesota drivers license.
  • Permit to Carry, or Permit to purchase issued by your local law enforcement.   (For Handgunds and Minnesota designated assault rifles.)

    You will be required to complete an ATF form 4473 and we will conduct the background check.   You will need to provide state issued identification with your current address.

    Upon successful completion of the background check and payment of transfer fees, the firearm will be transferred to you.

Outgoing Transfers

  • Yowie Outdoors provides the service of shipping outgoing transfers for our customers.   By law, we can only transfer firearms to another FFL dealer and handguns must be 2nd Day Express.   Long guns will be ground unless otherwise specified and paid for by the customer.

  • For Outgoing shipments be sure to make contact visit the reciving party website for any special instructions or requirements.
  • When a customer purchases firearms from Yowie Outdoors and wishes to ship it out within 30 days, only a appropriate shipping fees will apply.   Transfer fees will apply to all firearms not purchased at Yowie Outdoors and firearms purchased at Yowie Outdoors shipped after the aforementioned.
  • Yowie Outdoors ships all firearms best way and insurance is available at the cost of $1 per hundred dollar value. For the protection of the firearm(s) being shipped, it is preferred that customers bring the firearm in the original box/packaging, or an aftermarket soft or hard case, however we will accept firearms without them.   Yowie Outdoors will provide packing materials and shipping boxes as part of our transfer service.
  • Firearms shipped to Hawaii and Alaska are subject to actual shipping costs and extended delivery periods.
  • For the efficient processing of outgoing transfers, the following information is required:
    • Customers name, address, and contact number
    • Name and contact number of the person receiving the firearm
    • Name, contact number, and state of the receiving FFL
    • Amount of insurance if desired
    • A tracking number will be sent if an email address is
